The Witch

Hello, my name is Levi Crook and I am The Awful Witch. I tend a small farm in Louisiana. Incorporating regenerative and sustainable farming into my spiritual practice became the birth place of this tradition. I have dedicated my hands to honoring the livestock we raise in life and in death.

Our purpose

We weave old belief, old tools, and old ways into daily life — into the lives we raise, and the lives we take. Tending a creature, feeding it, giving it comfort, is its own kind of worship. Taking that life, when the time comes, is its own kind of ceremony — one that asks for nothing to go to waste in return for everything it gives.

At its heart, Awful Witchcraft became a tradition for those seeking a deeper connection: education, community, and spirituality. In time, Levi believed folks would come to see the true worth in the food they raised and the harvest they reaped. People will recognize the magic in both the land, animals, and their own hands. Through this we can all become richer in body, mind, and spirit.

The practices Awful Witchcraft focus on are not new, but are not common - lost to time and modernization. Butchery, food preservation techniques, and animal rearing are the foundations. Our hope is to breathe life and understanding into these old practices based around birth, life, and death. Everything has purpose alive and there after.
